Heeey! How are you? Thanks for visiting my blog. It’s one of my escape routes so glad you are escaping with me.
I started it to share with the world a little bit about myself.
Besides being me, I’m a mom, wife, sister, daughter, grand daughter, cousin, niece, friend and colleague to someone. However, this blog is about motherhood. The highs, the lows and everything in between!
I’m Ruth. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, for 18 years, after which we relocated to Meru. I am Meru because my dad was– we take after our dads. I have a strong love for music and theatre. My artsy side has helped me navigate lots of life’s shadows.
I currently live in Nairobi with my husband and and son. The two are a great source of joy to my life; they give me purpose and having just lost my dad, I can’t even begin to imagine how my life would be without them.
About the blog
The High on coffee mum has a mission to explore motherhood topics in a judgement-free way. It seeks to add more postpartum support through real life stories.
I am hoping to help moms be gentle on themselves first, because I strongly believe in re-parenting oneself in order to parent the child. There is a constant noise of do’s and don’ts in the background all mothers hear. High on Coffee Mum is about encouraging moms to take what works for them and leave the fluff behind, because let’s face it: People will always have opinions on how we raise our children or how we should behave as mothers. They forget about context.
I hope this blog grows to create a community of moms who feel supported in a fun way.
